Specialist governance, intellectual property, exploitation and implementation support for European research and innovation projects.

Avora Forge helps consortia establish the governance, rights, exploitation strategies and implementation pathways needed for project results to be adopted, scaled and sustained.

What Avora Forge does

Integrated support for research and innovation projects

Technical excellence alone does not ensure that project results will be used. Consortia also need workable governance, clear ownership and access arrangements, credible exploitation strategies, and realistic plans for implementation and continuity.

Avora Forge works across these connected areas. We translate legal, regulatory and strategic requirements into practical governance frameworks, project deliverables, exploitation arrangements and implementation pathways.

Support is available throughout the project lifecycle, from proposal development and project set-up to delivery, exploitation and post-project sustainability.

The GRIP Framework

Connecting governance, rights, exploitation and implementation

Avora Forge applies the GRIP Framework to identify and align the conditions needed for research and innovation results to be adopted, scaled and sustained.

The framework brings together four connected dimensions.

G

Governance

Structures for responsible, compliant and accountable delivery

We translate regulatory, ethical and policy requirements into workable project governance.

Typical contributions include:

  • legal and regulatory context analysis;
  • governance and operational principles;
  • AI, data and digital regulation;
  • ethics and compliance monitoring;
  • accountability, oversight and decision-making frameworks;
  • fundamental-rights and risk assessments.

R

Rights & Ownership

Clear ownership, control, access and use of project assets

We help consortia understand and structure rights in the knowledge, data, technology and other intellectual assets created or used by the project.

Typical contributions include:

  • background and results mapping;
  • contributions and ownership analysis;
  • access-rights and licensing frameworks;
  • intellectual asset management;
  • data access and data-sharing arrangements;
  • consortium, collaboration and exploitation agreements.

I

Impact & Exploitation

Credible routes from project results to use and impact

We help projects define what can realistically be exploited, by whom, for whose benefit and through which pathways.

Typical contributions include:

  • Key Exploitable Result identification and characterisation;
  • intended-user and stakeholder analysis;
  • value propositions and adoption barriers;
  • exploitation and business innovation plans;
  • commercial, societal, policy and research pathways;
  • regulatory readiness for uptake and deployment.

P

Pathways & Sustainability

Practical pathways to implementation, scale and continuity

We turn exploitation ambitions into plans addressing what must happen after the funded project ends.

Typical contributions include:

  • implementation and operational roadmaps;
  • post-project governance models;
  • operational roles and responsibilities;
  • maintenance and continuity arrangements;
  • resource, funding and scale-up pathways;
  • sustainability planning.

Selected Experience

Representative work

Here are six actual Horizon deliverables illustrating governance, ethics, intellectual assets, AI regulation, exploitation and sustainability.

Additional experience includes contributions to proposal development, governance frameworks, intellectual asset management, exploitation planning, sustainability strategies and implementation roadmaps across Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020 projects.

Ways to work together

Avora Forge can contribute through:

  • consortium and proposal development;
  • work package or task participation;
  • ownership of or contributions to project deliverables;
  • targeted legal, regulatory, governance or exploitation assignments;
  • workshops, reviews and gap analyses;
  • ongoing specialist support to coordinators, technical partners and innovation teams.

About the founder

Founded by Jiri Svorc

Avora Forge was founded by Jiri Svorc, a solicitor qualified in England and Wales and an independent research and innovation expert specialising in governance, intellectual assets, exploitation and implementation.

Jiri Svorc combines private-practice legal experience, first-hand European Commission experience and hands-on delivery across Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020 projects. This enables Avora Forge to connect legal and regulatory requirements with project governance, intellectual assets, exploitation and implementation.

The approach is practical and interdisciplinary: legal and regulatory requirements are treated not as standalone compliance exercises, but as part of the conditions needed for research results to be used, adopted and sustained.
